Spring Time... Almost

Is Spring ever going to get here?! Or are we jumping right into Summer, just like last year? Well, I guess we shouldn't complain to much. The weather the last week has been perfect. Gwen has really enjoyed being outside, and we have loved spending some family time outside.

COLOR with me Dad!?

Coloring all the time!
Gwen is now over 18 months old, and she is really soaking up everything. A little over a week ago, Gwen and a few friends all went to the circus in Salina. After she got her 'freakout' overwith, she really loved seeing the animals. She was terrified of the elephant at the beginning.

Watching the (kitties) tigers play.

Don't bother me while I'm on the iPad!

I DARE YOU TO SAY "NO"!
This never ending Winter blessed us yet again, with more ice. And it sounds like we might even get more winter like weather this week, on May 1! C'mon Spring, you can get here and stay here!

Our tree in the backyard, all iced up.

Savannah

Tamie had yet another work conference to go to, in Savannah, Georgia! April 6-9, Tamie and I got to enjoy some amazing weather, food and even got to sleep in! Gwen stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Prieb for a few days while we were gone. The trip got off to a fun start at the airport in Wichita. There were so many Wichita State Shocker fans heading to Atlanta for the Final Four. When we got to Atlanta to take a plane to Savannah, the airport was a buzz with Final Four excitment. After a quick flight from Atlanta, we finally reached our room in Savannah, and called it an early night.

Cotton was Savannah's "gold" many years ago.

Giant chess set in one of the many town squares.
On Sunday the 7th, Tamie and I went walked around town. The weather was perfect, while back in McPherson, it was cold and icy. With the river right outside our hotel window, we decided to take a boat tour. It was a short lived trip, but it was full of information about the area's industrial history.

An old steam powered power plant, that will soon be turned into a hotel.

Of course we HAD to visit the official Paula Deen store and restaurant!
The view from our hotel room was pretty amazing. Some days I spent some time just watching the enormous barges float quietly by. You just don't see stuff like this in Kansas!

One of the many boats that breezed by our hotel window.

Yep, yet another huge boat.
I didn't spend the entire trip hidden in our hotel room. While Tamie was in meetings on Monday, I left our room and went for a walk. Savannah was full of history. I was surprised how much war history the city had. In the center of each town square I found a statue featured.

One of the many statues in Savannah.

Another war memorial.

All About Easter!

Happy (belated) Easter everybody! Gwen had such a fun Easter. So many eggs... so so many eggs! We kicked off Easter bright and early at a church breakfast. Breakfast casserole, coffee cake and fruit. Did we mention Gwen got to pick up some eggs?

Gwen, at church, in her Easter dress. Thanks Aunt Nancy!

Gwen and Grandpa Prieb during church service.
After church service, and a quick nap, Gwen was ready to get out and play in the perfect Easter weather. Grandpa Prieb came to play, and brought Gwen an Easter basket full of fun stuff. Grandma Prieb didn't make it over because she wasn't feeling very good. (Grandma got plenty of 'Gwen time' in the coming future.) We played out back, wrote on the ground with sidewalk chalk and blew bubbles all over the backyard!

BIG Easter smiles!
Have we mentioned that Gwen got to pick up Easter eggs yet?! A total of THREE egg hunts for our little one. One for Farmers Alliance, one for New Hope Church(Grandpa and Grandma Prieb's church), and the last one at our church, First Christian Church. Here are couple pics from Gwen's egg hunting adventures.

At New Hope Church, a chilly morning, but still great fun!

At Farmers Alliance egg hunt. Such perfect weather, and more egg hunting fun!
After all the egg hunting fun, we still have fun at home. Gwen is so happy that the weather is finally warming up! She loves to go 'sides'(outside). Backyard or front yard, just get this girl outside and she is completely happy. Gwen loves to chase dad while he mows the yard, and that makes mom(and dad) crazy nervous!

'Sides', ready to play!

It just wouldn't be a trip to Wal-Mart without stopping to play on the rides.
St. Patrick's Day was yet another party! Gwen's friend Simon had his fifth birthday party and it was a blast! Gwen got decked out in her St. Pat's gear, and even got some beads and sunglasses during the party! Gwen partied with her friends, and had some gooooood cake, to really get her going!

Party Time!!
