We've Got a Roller!!

At 16 weeks and 2 days (but who's counting right?), our not so little girl rolled over! Gwen went from belly to back. We are so happy we caught the roll on camera too. Gwen was pretty proud of herself, giving big smiles right after she rolled.

Almost there!

Back to Normal

Gwen survived her first holiday season... barely. Our family is very happy to have some 'down time' to finally relax and have fun with our baby girl. Following the New Year we all headed over to Tim and Lacey Kliewer's house to watch the Cotton Bowl with our friend Adam Bacon. K-State vs. Arkansas, sounded like a good game, unfortunately for K-State, it didn't turn out how Gwen wanted.

Gwen, freaked out by K-State playing so badly.
Also, in our down time, we have loved watching Gwen having 'tummy time'! She is starting to interact with her toys! Her giraffe is still her favorite, by a long shot. But there's some competition with a worm that lights up and makes noises. She's really working hard on rolling over too! Gwen can get her hips turned and body tilted, she just can't quite figure out what to do with her arms. Tamie and I are ANXIOUSLY awaiting her first roll over.

Gwen sitting like a BIG girl in her Bumbo chair.
Tamie and I believe that Gwen has finally cleared her Colic days! We have totally LOVED how Gwen's attitude has changed. It previously took several tries to get a picture with a smile in it. Now, all she does is SMILE! It's so much fun to have a happy happy baby.

One of the many smiles we enjoy.
Gwen started daycare nearly a month ago, and she has learned so much from her friends! We have noticed how much more she observes what is happening around her. Anything that is happening around the house she must now be involved in.

Since we last posted, Gwen has been dedicated at our church! To kick off our new year, Gwen became part of our church on January 1, 2012. Gwen received her first mini bible, and some flowers. Tamie was given a cross necklace. We all three feel very loved by our church family.

Gwen, ready for church.

Letters From Gwen Part 3

I'm baaaaacckkk! It's Gwen! I snuck on Grandpa's iPad to write to you all! I had such a busy FIRST Christmas. Where to begin?
Me, in my Christmas outfit!
I had many Christmas plans. However, almost all of the plans didn't happen. Friday before Christmas we headed to Lindsborg to have some fun with my friends Lilly and Haley! All the moms and dads had pizza, then we got to open presents. I got to open my very FIRST present! I had fun with my friends, but it was off to bed early because we had a big weekend planned.

I looked pretty good in my Christmas dress at church!

Christmas Eve morning mom and dad exchanged gifts. Mommy started to feel icky! (This, my friends, is where Christmas took a turn for the worst.) We got mom feeling good enough to head to Hillsboro for the Prieb family Christmas. I got to meet some of my cousins, great aunts and uncles(Great Uncle Frank is kinda goofy!), and I finally met my GREAT GREAT Grandpa and Grandma Prieb. Mommy started to feel really icky, so we left for home quickly. And it was a good thing we did! Mommy got really sick on the ride home. Every time mom tried to eat food, a few minutes later, mom would run to the bathroom.

I like giving mom and dad smiles!

Lucky for me, daddy was feeling good because I started to feel icky just like mom! Dad 'quarantined' mom in the guest room to try to feel better. I kept dad up til 7am Christmas morning. I WAS NOT feeling good! I got to sleep on dad's chest(on the couch) for my first Christmas morning. Mom got up and decided that we weren't going to see her family. Dad was tired, and mom couldn't make the three hour drive to her hometown. It made all of us sad that we couldn't go. On the bright side, I started feeling better!

Me and dad, crashed out on the couch!
Even better than me getting better, mommy started feeling good! Mommy and I were pretty happy! Unfortunately, dad started feeling icky! What the heck dad?! Dad had a fever and was achy. So mommy 'quarantined' daddy to the guest room this time! Dad slept all day, so it was just me and mommy. Not a good start to Christmas!

Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa is holding me!

I woke up the next day, hoping dad was feeling better. But... dad was still sick! I spent most of the day again with mommy. I told dad to keep his distance! I don't want to get sick again DAD! Dad won't be off work on Christmas for a few years, way to go dad.

My FIRST present was as BIG as me!
Christmas weekend might have been a disappointment, but we all felt so much better on Tuesday. I finally had both mom and dad all to myself! It was a good thing mom and dad felt better, they had a busy end to the week ahead of them.

BIG smiles, I love Santa!

Thursday after Christmas, mommy had a minor surgery in Newton. I don't know what 'surgery' is, but dad said it's going to make mom feel much better! Dad was taking care of mom, so I got to spend time with grandpa and grandma Prieb (I've got them wrapped around my little finger!). I know surgery helped mommy, but it sure did make her sleepy. That was ok with me, more grandpa and grandma time!

My FAVORITE stuffed animal, Giggles the giraffe!

Mom still wasn't feeling that good and dad had to go back to work on New Year's Eve, so I spent my first New Year's with mom, and grandpa and grandma. They brought pizza and cheesecake from Chicago to eat! (My bottle is still my preferred meal!) I didn't stay up to see midnight. I was a good girl and went to sleep at 9:30pm. When dad got home at midnight I heard him give mom a SMOOCH! A big thank you to everyone who came to help my mommy out after her surgery while dad was at work-- Megan, Teri and Jo.(Jo is such a push over, if I cry juuuust a little bit she will hold me! HA!)

Uh-oh... here comes grandpa looking for his iPad! I gotta run again... until next time...
